We serve a God of hope. Therefore, by the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in us, we can overcome hopelessness. The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ had a plan to bring us this hope. Christ Jesus was sent to give us this hope. He died so that the former things would be forever forgotten. This great hope is found in the name of Jesus who brings life to believers. Let’s read these bible verses for when hopeless to feel hope again. The Bible is where we can find the hope promised by God.
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Psalm 71:5 ESV
David knew that his hope came from God. He wrote many Psalms expressing his need for God and the hope that only God could provide. We all can tap into the hope of God. Any sufferings of this present time, trust that God can see you through it all. However, we must first trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We must believe that the power of Christ Jesus leads to eternal life. Jesus came to give life in abundance. This is where our hope comes from. Therefore, we have nothing to fear because God’s love brings hope to His people. He will hold us up and give us hope during the hardest of times. Hence, we have nothing to fear during hard times.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 ESV
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 ESV
Hard Times
We will always face hard times. There is not one single person who can say they have not experienced any hard times. There will be loss of loved ones, jobs, money, possessions, and peace. We will experience hurt, betrayal, illness, and sorrow. Jesus said as much in John 16:33. We will have trouble but hold on to his love and hope. He has overcome this world and all that we are experiencing is temporary.
There is an eternal life waiting for us where there are no more tears. However, during this time we must allow the love of God to comfort us when we are at our lowest points. God hears our cries and will help us according to His will. He will always answer our prayers. It will be yes, no, or wait. For me waiting is the hardest.
However, I know God loves me and wants me to know that He loves me. So, I will always wait in obedience. I will try to be obedient when called to act. Hopefully, I can accept no to my plans because I know it is either wrong for me or God has something better for me.
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17 ESV
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 ESV
We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 ESV
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9 ESV
Love Of God
God’s love is ever-present. The Holy Spirit pours it into our hearts. However, I found that I wanted to replay my bad situation over and over in my mind. I did not allow myself to feel God’s love. I am ashamed to say I did not seek God for thoughts of peace. Time and time I have let my circumstances take captive these thoughts which spiral me into hopelessness. The worry builds up so much that I am filled with anxiety and despair.
As I became a more mature Christian, I learned that seeking God would help me deal with my sleepless nights. Therefore, the more I grew in my faith the more my hope grew. By reading God’s love letters I was able to find the hope I so desperately needed. God’s love covered me during the worst of times. I now know that I just need to seek Him in prayer, read the word of God, confess, and turn from sin. I should ask for forgiveness and give forgiveness to others. This helped to pull me out of my pit of destruction. I can sing joyful songs of praise to my God for I have found my hope.
and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:5 ESV
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16 ESV
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3 ESV
Thoughts Of Peace
To obtain thoughts of peace requires a change in the eyes of your heart. Submerging yourself in the peace that Jesus offers. You must keep your eyes on the prize. Believe in all that God has promised. God said He would send a Savior and He did. Jesus is that Savior and he promised us a peace that is different than the world’s peace.
If you capture every thought that leads to darkness and bring it into the light you will have thoughts of peace. When God’s peace comes over me all my anxiety seems to just disappear. He has rebuked the devil and all his schemes to get me to separate from God. However, I am a child of God, and I know my redeemer is here to lead me to peaceful thoughts and out of hopelessness.
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, Ephesians 1:18 ESV

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27 ESV
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17 ESV
Children Of God
We become children of God when we believe in God’s promises. We should be willing to be convicted of our sins, allowing God to lead us from being children of the flesh. The peace of God is available to all God’s children, whether chosen or adopted. Our peace is a gift of God that leads to hope. The hope is that everything will go according to His will. Therefore, there is no need to worry about tomorrow.
We are called to be concerned with today. When we spend too much time thinking about the past, we rob ourselves of today. Likewise, when we spend too much time worrying about our future. God wants us to remain in the present. To trust Him with our future.
However, sometimes we may find ourselves falling into a rabbit hole of doubt, indecision, regret, and self-judgment to the point that we find ourselves in despair. At these times, fall on your knees and seek God. He is the rock that can make our future steady. God is a firm foundation that we can lean on in times of trouble.
This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. Romans 9:8 ESV
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:34 ESV
He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Psalm 40:2 ESV
But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19 ESV
Hopeless To Feeling Hope
The journey to feeling hope can be long with many twists and turns. As Christians, when we look back on our lives and all that we have been through, we can see the change from hopelessness to hope. When you reach the other side of a broken heart you will feel God’s hope for your future. You will then know that God has always been there with you healing your heart and your crushed spirit. He has been walking with you every step of the way offering mercy and comfort.
God is with us when we go through the deep waters that threatened to drown us and the fires that tried to burn us up. God’s word will always be with us encouraging and leading us.
God is where you should seek your comfort. Open your Bible and begin praying to the Lord. The God of all comfort will meet you where you are. No matter what you have said or done He will see you through it all. He will forgive you and help you to forgive yourself. You are not alone, and you are not without hope.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 ESV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Corinthians 1:3 ESV
Jesus Is Our Living Hope
Jesus is God’s promised hope. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate display of reconciliation with God. Jesus is the good news of salvation for all. For Jesus is greater than death, the devil, and greater than humanity’s sins. Christians can take hope and rejoice that Jesus paid the price for us, allowing us to be reconciled with God. Therefore, we find hope in believing we will one day share in the riches of His glorious inheritance. No matter how dark my valley may become, I know that I will find comfort in Jesus. He is my hope of a new life in Christ.
Through the many Covenants of Promise God made with mankind that we broke leaving us with no hope. The covenant of Jesus Christ requires that we believe He is our living hope. There is nothing for us to do but believe that he died for our sins, was resurrected, and is seated at the right hand of God.
